ABOUT GAMES FOR GOOD
Games for Good, hosted by Joejuan Williams and Chase Winovich of the New England Patriots, is an exciting new virtual event brought to you by the creators of the super successful Mayo Bowl/Sweet Feet for Strikes fundraising bowling tournaments, Blue Sky Sports & Entertainment. Since we can't all gather for an in-person bowling tournament, Blue Sky Sports & Entertainment created Games for Good, which provides sponsors the priceless experience of playing a classic game show with professional athletes. Throughout the evening, sponsorship teams compete virtually in a "Family Feud" style game with current or former New England Patriots and other Boston athletes who serve as team captains.
All proceeds from the event will benefit Boston Medical Center’s Center for Health Equity. BMC has long recognized that much of what impacts a patient's overall health goes well beyond traditional medical care—it is also about addressing the underlying barriers to health, like housing and food insecurity. This mission was galvanized by Vision 2030, which set out to make Boston one of the healthiest urban populations by 2030.
We know ZIP code is a stronger predictor of health than biology, and we know a large portion of our patients are facing hardships stemming from social determinants of health—factors such as access to economic opportunity, quality education, affordable healthy foods and a safe community—when they come through our doors.
The COVID-19 public health emergency has amplified the significant impact socioeconomic circumstances has on one’s health and well-being—a stark reality that is galvanizing BMC’s longstanding fight for health equity and mitigating challenges many of our patients face every day. The Center for Health Equity seeks to create sustainable change centered on social determinants of health to make certain every person has an equal opportunity to thrive.
Fundraising will allow BMC to lay the groundwork needed to launch the Center for Health Equity, helping BMC understand patients’ needs, connect patients to resources both at BMC and within the community and break down barriers to health.
In addition the sponsorship opportunities, general event tickets are available for the pre-game red carpet virtual event. Please click here to register for the red carpet event.
